New Trailer Project! + A New Home For My Videos!

Evening Guys!

Before I start talking about my latest project I want to let you know that my videos will also be available on Vimeo! So if you woud like to check out my stuff on Vimeo then go to www.vimeo.com/danwilliamsfreelance

Now to talk about my latest project!

In my post titled "Last Minute Project" I mentioned that I would like to make more trailers. Well I have followed up on my idea and I now bring you another trailer which I hope you will enjoy!

To give you a quick bit of background on this one, I sent out a message to my friends asking for suggestions for trailers I could make. My friend Lee Andrew stepped up to the plate again and told me he had some ideas he wanted to shoot past me. He directed me towards a 12 minute trailer that
had been released for a game called Battlefield 3. After watching the trailer, I had already planned my version in my head. So I said to Lee that I would start editing it and we would get together and I would show him where I was.

We couldn't get together face to face so we decided to use FaceTime on our iPhones and use Screen Share on our Macs so I could show the trailer. The connection wasn't the best but he managed to see what he wanted and he liked it. So I continued the edit and I have now finished he video. A second edit may appear after this post as Lee might want me to change the music but overall he is happy with it.

This trailer is close to how I wanted to approach the Gears of War 3 trailer I made with Lee. So I am glad I have managed to use the idea I had for the Gears trailer.

Before I show you the video I just want to do a quick special thanks list:

Lee Andrew for the suggestion
Dice & EA Games for the footage
Yoav & Emily Browning for the music

I hope you enjoy the trailer and any feedback will be most appreciated.

Funding Future Films

Hello and good evening!

Well this blog post is going to be a little different to the rest as this is about me kinda advertising myself, rather than talking about people coming to me with their ideas.

Now that I am intending to go full force into my hobby of filmmaking I am finding out fast how expensive this is going to be. So I have come up with a way to help me fund my hobby whilst practicing my techniques.

At previous family Weddings I have been asked to make a video for the Bride & Groom so they will have something to remember the day by. Well I did them and thought nothing of it, until now. I have been researching and have seen what some of these Videographers charge and I think they just plain rob people of their money.

Therefore, I am slowly starting to get my foot in the door of Wedding Videography. I have set a price of £250 per video which will include a pre-wedding consultation to discuss the video, me filming as much or as little as you want of your Wedding day. (some Churches require you to buy a license to allow me to film in the Church, you will be required to pay this fee). I will then edit the video and I will visit you with a first draft of the video for you to check and after this visit I will make any needed edits. A DVD will then be made which will be in a DVD case with cover.

Any advice from current Videographer would be much appreciated!

I have put a show reel together to show what I can do. This is all filmed in Standard Definition and I will be filming future Weddings in High Definition. I will add to this show reel as I go on. So watch this space! The music in it is not the original song I chose, YouTube decided to take it off so I had to choose one that YouTube can dub over. I think the song I chose was rather fitting!

Last Minute Project!

Hello all

Well I have had quite an eventful few days and I will create a post about my other project in due course.

Now to give you a quick bit of background about this particular project. My friend Lee works at Game in Wrexham and he is the administrator of their Facebook page. He came to me asking for some assistance in making a video for the Facebook page. He explained to me that he wanted to make a trailer for the Gears of War 3 launch night that they would be having. Instantly I was on board as I love the Gears of War games and I will have to play the third in the series.

So he ran through what he wanted the trailer to be and his direction was "epic and awesome!". So we got some trailers that the guys at Epic Games have put out for the game so we would have game footage to play with and spent 2 evenings editing it together.

I hate to sound cheesy but when we started to put this together I knew we had something special and I was right. I am very proud of this and I haven't been proud of a video I have made for a long time. After making this trailer I have decided to play with this format a little more so expect to see more trailers appear on here.

So here and available in 720p (first video of mine to be available in High Definition, is mine and Lee Andrew's Gears of War 3 trailer! I hope you all like it and any feedback would be great!
